$252,600 in Grants Awarded for the Spring 2019 Cycle

Buhl Regional Health Foundation Awards Grants for the Spring 2019 Cycle

 

Nine community non-profit agencies received grants Friday, March 29, 2019, totaling $252,600 from the Buhl Regional Health Foundation.

The agencies will use the grants for mental and physical health or health-related programs in the Foundation’s service area.

A brief meeting was held to distribute the grant awards and congratulate the agency leaders and grant writers who worked to request the funds for their organizations. 

Agencies, their programs, and grant awards are:

—Adventures in Training with a Purpose, Specialized Training for Vulnerable Populations: $20,000

—Butler County Community College, HOPE Initiative: Healthy Endorphin-Awakened Lifestyle (HEAL): $11,000

—Community Arts Experience, Arts-N-Motion: “Dancing Display of Lights”: $5,500

—Gaudenzia Erie, Inc., DRUM-atic healing at Gaudenzia: $1500

—Hope Center for Arts & Technology, Expansion of Youth Arts Curriculum to Digital and Design Arts: $50,000

—Maple Tree Cancer Alliance, Exercise Oncology Program Partnership with Buhl Community Recreation Center: $20,000

—Sharon City School District, Mercer County School Safety and Violence Prevention Program: $40,000

—UMPC Horizon Community Health Foundation, Medical Equipment Recycling Program (MERP): $30,000

—Zion Education Center, CYPEN Project: $74,600

As Buhl Regional Health Foundation progresses its funding focus, it will continue to offer a capacity building environment to aid non-profit agencies in the service area in future collaborative grant requests.  The Foundation extends an open invitation to participate in any of its five collaborative community health Action Teams: Transportation, Mental Health, Addiction, Food & Nutrition and Connecting Resources.
