Buhl Regional Health Foundation Awards Grants for the Spring 2018 Cycle
Eight community non-profit agencies received grants Thursday, March 29, 2018, totaling $141,500 from Buhl Regional Health Foundation. The agencies will use the grants for mental and physical health or health-related programs in the Foundation’s service area. A brief meeting was held to distribute the grant awards and congratulate the agency leaders and grant writers who worked to request the funds for their organizations.
Agencies, their programs, and grant awards are:
—Building Blocks Child Center, Natural Playground: $15,000.
—Community Counseling Center of Mercer County, Non-Opioid Recovery & Pain Mgmt. Specialized Outpatient Program: $25,000.
—Earth Angel Farm, Enrichment: Accessible Integrative Wellness: $5,000.
—First Presbyterian Church of Sharon, Sharon Back Pack Food Program: $25,000.
—Gaudenzia Erie, Inc., Drum-atic Healing at Gaudenzia: $1,500.
—Keystone Adolescent Center, Community Based family Intervention Program (Summer Enrichment): $25,000.
—Keystone Blind Association, Prevention of Blindness & Low Vision Clinic: $30,000.
—Shenango Valley YMCA, YMCA at Chaver’s Community Center: $15,000.
As Buhl Regional Health Foundation progresses its funding focus, it will continue to offer a capacity building environment to aid non-profit agencies in the service area in future collaborative grant requests. So far this year, the Foundation has offered a Grant Writing Class Series and an open invitation to participate in any of its five collaborative community health Action Teams.
